I’ve had trouble attaching extra material to the bottom of skirts because it is hard to make the radius of the two peices match up Any tips on how to handle the process?

I have had that problem in the past with A-line skirts and this is my solution.

Step 1) I lay the skirt out flat as I can and put down some paper under the bottom of it.

Step 2) I take a ruler and pencil and follow the line of the skirt down on the sides. Then I take the same ruler and measure out a few inches along the bottom of the skirt making little dots to mark the spots.

Step 3) I connect the dots and when you remove the skirt you have a pattern.

As you can see in the illustration the pattern created here is at a slight angle that follows the line of the skirt. This method can also be used for tapered skirts, sleeves and collars.

I hope that was helpful. If you have any more questions just let me know.
